Description
The kola nut, or cola, is the seed of trees of the genus Cola, generically called kola trees. It is reputed to aid digestion and have aphrodisiac properties. It has a bitter taste due to its high xanthin content (primarily caffeine, but also kolatin and kolatein, which soften the effects of caffeine). Because of its caffeine content, cola is a natural stimulant that effectively helps combat fatigue and drowsiness, as well as maintain alertness.
