Description
Waakye (adako) is the local name for the sun-dried leaves of red sorghum stalks. When added to food, it imparts a vibrant red color. It is used in cooking (waakye rice) and also as an herbal tea. Waakye originates from Africa, but due to its incredible health benefits, many countries cultivate this plant commercially and it is even used as a staple food because of its high nutrient content.
